A polyester container made from a polymer having ethylene glycol moieties, isosorbide moieties and terepthaloyl moieties, and the method of making the container is described. The polyester container is suitable for holding liquids and solids, and may be hot-filled or cold-filled. In particular, wide-mouth jars and narrow-necked bottles may be formed. The polyester has an inherent viscosity of at least 0.35 dL/g when measured as a 1 % (weight/volume) solution of the polyester in o-chlorophenol at a temperature of 25 °C.

La présente invention concerne un récipient en polyester contenant des fractions d'éthylène glycol, des fraction d'isosorbide et des fractions de térépthaloyle, ainsi que son procédé de fabrication. Ce récipient en polyester convient pour des liquides et des solides, versés à l'état brûlant ou chaud. Il est en particulier possible de réaliser des jarres à grande ouverture et des bouteilles à col étroit. Ce polyester à une viscosité inhérente d'au moins 0,35 dl/g pour une solution de polyester à 1 % (en poids et en volume) dans de l'o-chlorphénol à une température de 25 DEG C.
