PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION: L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication de l'acétate d'éthyle par réaction de l'éthylène sur l'acide acétique en phase vapeur. Le procédé de l'invention est caractérisé en ce que l'on opère en présence d'un polymère fluoré solide contenant des groupements acides sulfoniques pendants. Un tel type de catalyseur s'est montré très efficace et son efficacité est pratiquement constante sur une grande intervalle de temps; en outre, on n'observe pratiquement pas de formation de sous-produits.
