ABSTRACT An adapter is provided that includes a housing, a striker, a spring, a lever, and a hook. The striker is movably mounted in the housing and biased by the spring towards a firing position with a front end extending into an aperture at the front of the housing. The lever is pivotally connected to the exterior of the housing and the hook. The hook extends through an aperture in the housing and is connected to the striker such that movement of the lever will move the striker. The front end of the housing has a connector for connecting the housing to a rear end of a powder actuated connecting tool.
