The invention describes a method for drilling in the floor of an ocean from a floating structure. A seal housing (20) having a rotatable seal connected above a portion of a riser R which is fixed to the floor of the ocean. The seal rotates with tubular to allow the riser R and seal housing (20) to maintain a predetermined pressure. A flexible conduit is used to compensate for relative movement of the seal housing (20) and the floating structure because the floating structure moves independent of the seal housing (20). The drilling fluid is pumped from the floating structure into an annulus of the riser R, allowing the formation of a mud cap (1330) downhole in the riser R, or allowing reverse circulation of the drilling fluid down the riser R, returning up the rotatable tubular to the floating structure.

L'invention porte sur un procédé de forage de fond matin depuis une structure flottante utilisant une tubulure rotative et comprenant un corps d'étanchéité (20) dont le joint d'étanchéité rotatif est raccordé au-dessus d'une partie d'un tube goulotte (R) ancré au fond de l'océan. Le joint d'étanchéité tournant avec la tubulure rotative permet au tube goulotte (R) et au corps d'étanchéité (20) de conserver une pression prédéterminée dans le système, ce qui est souhaitable dans le bouchon de boue sous pression et le forage à circulation inverse. Un conduit ou tuyau flexible est utilisé pour compenser le mouvement relatif du corps d'étanchéité (20) et de la structure flottante du fait que cette dernière bouge indépendamment du corps d'étanchéité (20). Le fluide de forage est pompé depuis la structure flottante dans l'espace annulaire du tube goulotte (R), ce qui permet la formation d'un bouchon de boue (1330) de fond de trou dans le tube goulotte (R), ou la circulation inverse du fluide de forage au fond du tube goulotte (R), remontant de la tubulure rotative vers la structure flottante.
