ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Flame-retardant thermoplastic polyester resin compositions are formed by melt-blending a polyester base resin, and a flame-retardant package which includes (i) an organohalogen flame retardant, and (ii) a low-sulfate containing antimony oxide (i.e., having a sulfate content of 0.05% by weight or less) as an auxiliary flame retardant. The compositions of this invention may optionally inlcude a drip-resistant effective amount of a polytetrafluoroethylene resin. The low sulfate-containing antimony oxide is preferably antimony trioxide.
