The invention provides a substantially non-immunogenic submucosal xenograft for implantation into humans. The invention further provides methods for preparing the xenograft by removing at least a portion of a submucosa from a non-human animal; washing the xenograft in saline and alcohol; subjecting the xenograft to cellular disruption treatment; and digesting the xenograft with a glycosidase to remove surface carbohydrate moieties. The invention also provides an article of manufacture produced by the above-identified method. The invention further provides a submucosal xenograft for implantation into a human including a portion of a submucosal tissue from a non-human animal, wherein the portion has substantially no surface carbohydrate moieties that are susceptible to glycosidase digestion. Each of the xenografts has substantially the same mechanical properties as native soft tissue.
L'invention porte sur une xénogreffe sous muqueuse non immunogène destinée à être implantée sur un être humain. L'invention porte sur des procédés de préparation de la xénogreffe qui consistent à retirer au moins une partie d'une sous-muqueuse d'un animal ; laver la xénogreffe dans une solution saline et dans l'alcool ; soumettre la xénogreffe à un traitement contre la dissociation cellulaire et faire digérer la xénogreffe avec une glycosidase afin d'éliminer les fractions glucidiques en surface. L'invention porte également sur un article de fabrication obtenu par le procédé précité, ainsi que sur une xénogreffe de sous-muqueuse destinée à être implantée chez l'homme et comprenant une partie de tissu de sous-muqueuse provenant d'un animal, cette partie ne possédant pratiquement pas de fractions glucidiques en surface susceptibles de permettre la digestion de la glycosidase. Chaque xénogreffe a pratiquement les mêmes propriétés mécaniques que le tissu mou d'origine.
