A polymer blend useful as a binder in an aqueous coating composition containing no coalescent is provided. The polymer blend comprises from about 20 to about 60 weight percent of a hard emulsion polymer, having a glass transition temperature greater than about room temperature, and from about 80 to about 40 weight percent of a soft emulsion polymer, having a glass transition temperature less than about 15 degrees Centigrade.

Mélange polymérique utile comme liant dans une composition de revêtement aqueuse ne renfermant aucun coalescent. Le mélange polymérique renferme environ 20 à environ 60 pour cent en poids d'un polymère en émulsion dur, possédant une température de transition vitreuse supérieure approximativement à la température de la pièce, et environ 80 à environ 40 pour cent en poids d'un polymère en émulsion mou, possédant une température de transition vitreuse inférieure à 15 degrés Celcius.
