A method of processing computer graphics information for rendering an image on a display comprising preparing a texture map in which each point is given one of a limited number of codes, each code identifying a parameter set which defines the colour and brightness of that point of the map. Prior to rendering, a conversion calculation is performed to provide a new parameter set for each code which is applicable to a particular polygon. This gives a look-up table used to render into the frame buffer.

L'invention se rapporte à un procédé de traitement d'informations graphiques visant à restituer une image sur un écran et qui consiste à préparer une cartographie des textures dans laquelle à chaque point est attribué un nombre de codes à série limitée, chaque numéro de code identifiant un jeu de paramètres qui définit la couleur et la brillance de ce point de la cartographie. Avant restitution, on effectue une conversion pour obtenir un nouveau jeu de paramètres pour chaque numéro de code applicable à un polygone en particulier. On obtient ainsi une table de consultation utilisée pour la restitution dans le tampon d'images.
