An apparatus for implanting an implant device having a corkscrew-type anchor associated therewith into a patient includes an elongated, flexible shaft. A retention mechanism is located at the distal end of the shaft for retaining the device at the distal end of the shaft. The apparatus includes means selectively operable for disengaging the retention mechanism from the implant device when the anchor has been anchored into tissue at a target site. In another aspect, an apparatus for releasing an implant into a vessel within a patient includes an elongated shaft for inserting into the vessel of the patient. A tether wire extends through the proximal portion of a secondary lumen, exits a first port, engages a portion of the implant, enters a second port, and extends through at least a portion of a distal portion of the secondary lumen. The implant is thereby tethered to the side of the elongated shaft, and pulling the tether wire disengages the tether wire from the distal portion of the secondary lumen and the implant so as to release the implant from the shaft.
La présente invention concerne un appareil comportant une tige longue souple, et permettant d'implanter dans un patient un dispositif implantable associé à une ancre en tire-bouchon. Un mécanisme de retenue, situé à l'extrémité de la tige, permet de maintenir le dispositif à l'extrémité distale de la tige. L'appareil comporte des organes se manoeuvrant de façon sélective pour dégager du dispositif implantable le mécanisme de retenue une fois que l'ancre est prise dans les tissus du site cible. Dans un autre aspect, l'invention concerne un appareil permettant de libérer un implant à l'intérieur d'un vaisseau dans l'anatomie d'un patient et comprenant une tige longue à insérer dans le vaisseau du patient. Un fil de sécurité passe par la partie proximale d'une lumière secondaire, sort par un premier orifice, touche une partie de l'implant, pénètre dans un deuxième orifice et traverse au moins une partie de l'extrémité distale de la lumière secondaire. L'implant est ainsi tenu en laisse à un côté de la tige longue, et en tirant sur le fil, on le dégage de la partie distale de la lumière secondaire et de l'implant, ce qui dégage l'implant de la tige.
