The invention relates to a folded filter (1) made of fibrous material such as nonwoven fabric, especially thermoplastic fibers and/or thermoplastic bonding materials, having folds (6, 8) which are fixed at a space by applying energy. In order to enhance shape strength and service life, three basic solutions are envisaged: 1. the folds (6, 8) overlap in their longitudinal direction and are fixed at least in certain parts of the joint areas in the areas of overlapping; 2. sealing areas are embodied as strips and extend from the edges of the folds at a distance of 1 to 30 mm and are located beyond or between the filtering surfaces (5), and 3. the folded filter (1) has an edge area (18) that is reinforced and stabilized by applying energy. These three possibilities may be combined. The concept "energy application" includes the utilization of all joining methods in which heat and/or pressure, with or without additional materials, affect the fibrous material and/or its components, such as ultrasound, thermoshaping, laser irradiation, welding, especially welding according to DIN 1910 and joining method according to DIN 8593.
L'invention concerne un filtre à plis (1) en matière fibreuse telle que du non-tissé, notamment de fibres thermoplastiques et/ou de liants thermoplastiques. Ce filtre a des plis (6, 8) qui sont fixés à une certaine distance par application d'énergie. Trois solutions fondamentales permettent d'augmenter la solidité de forme et la durabilité: 1) les plis (6, 8) se chevauchent dans leur sens longitudinal et, dans ces zones de chevauchement, ils sont fixés au moins en certains endroits des zones d'assemblage; 2) les zones de scellement, conçues sous forme de bandes, s'étendent à une distance de 1 à 30 mm à partir des bords des plis et se situent au-delà des surfaces filtrantes (5) ou entre ces dernières; 3) le filtre à plis (1) a une bordure (18) solidifiée et stabilisée par application d'énergie. Ces solutions peuvent également être combinées. Par "application d'énergie", on entend l'utilisation de tous les procédés d'assemblage selon lesquels la chaleur et/ou une pression, avec ou sans matériau additionnel, agissent sur la matière fibreuse et/ou ses composants, tels que les ultrasons, l'estampage thermique, le rayonnement laser, le soudage, notamment le soudage selon la forme DIN 1910 et le procédé d'assemblage selon la norme DIN 8593.
