The invention concerns GPS receivers mounted on vehicles, in particular on aircraft. To obtain position values at a sufficient rate it is proposed to use speed measurements (block 22) to supply a position extrapolation (LGc, LTc, ALc) while waiting for the next position measurement. Preferably a corrected position based on a measured position is provided by adding to the previous corrected position the integrated speed (integrators 46, 48, 50) between two points in time and a smoothing term which is a fraction of the difference between the measured position and the corrected position at the time of the previous position measurement.
L'invention concerne les récepteurs GPS montés sur véhicules, notamment sur avions. Pour obtenir des valeurs de position à une cadence suffisante on propose de se servir des mesures de vitesse (bloc 22) pour fournir une extrapolation de position (LGc, LTc, ALc) en attendant la mesure de position suivante. On fournit de préférence une position corrigée à partir d'une position mesurée en ajoutant à la position corrigée précédente la vitesse intégrée (intégrateurs 46 48, 50) entre deux instants et un terme de lissage qui est une fraction de la différence entre la position mesurée et la position corrigée à l'instant de mesure de position précédent.
