A system and method for establishing initial synchronization for the link between a UE and a base station in a communication network uses window exclusion logic in order to avoid a deadlock condition upon a detection of the wrong public land mobile network (PLMN). The communication signal is processed in a three step decision process. The first decision step (12) determines a chip offset of the strongest path detected over a frame of samples. In response to the first decision (12), the second step (14) generates a scrambling code group number and slot offset for retrieving the second synchronization code. The third decision step (16) retrieves a primary scrambling code in response to the code group number for synchronizing the UE to the base station.
L'invention se rapporte à un système et à un procédé permettant d'établir une synchronisation initiale aux fins de la liaison entre un équipement utilisateur (UE) et une station fixe dans un réseau de communication. Ledit système met en oeuvre une logique d'exclusion de fenêtres de manière à éviter une situation d'interblocage lors d'une détection du mauvais réseau mobile terrestre public (PLNM). Le signal de communication est traité au cours d'un processus de décision à trois étapes. La première étape de décision (12) détermine un décalage des bribes de la voie la plus puissante détectée sur une trame d'échantillons. En réponse à la première décision (12), la second étape (14) génère un numéro de groupe de code de chiffrement et un décalage d'intervalle aux fins de l'extraction du second code de synchronisation. La troisième étape de décision (16) extrait un code de chiffrement primaire en réponse au numéro de groupe de code aux fins de la synchronisation de l'équipement utilisateur sur la station fixe.
