The present invention relates to a novel purification process for pseudo-ionone which consists in preparing the pseudo-ionone by reaction of citral on acetone, then contacting the reaction medium with a metal derivative and then distilling the pseudo-ionone. This process makes it possible to avoid the use of fractional distillation.
