The invention relates to a method for producing the compound of formula 1, characterized in that a diamine of the formula 2 is converted to a compound of formula 4 by reaction with an oxadiazolone of the formula 3, said compound of formula 4 being converted to the amidine of formula 1 without isolation by hydrating and adding p--toluene sulfonic acid and ammonia.
