The present invention relates to a novel process for the synthesis of substituted or unsubstituted 2-hydroxyalkyl paraphenylenediamines in position 5 of the benzene ring of the formula (I): (see Fig. I) wherein: n is an integer from 1 to 4 inclusive; R represents a hydrogen or halogen atom, such as bromium, chlorine or fluorine, a C1-C6 alkyl group or a group OZ or SZ in which Z represents an C1-C6 alkyl group, a C1-C6 monohydroxyalkyl or a C2-C6 polyhydroxyalkyl; and R1, R2, R3, R4 are identical or different.

La présente invention concerne un nouveau procédé de synthèse de 2-hydroxyalkyl paraphénylènediamines substituées ou non substituées en position 5 du noyau benzénique de formule (I): (voir fig. I) dans laquelle: - n est un nombre entier compris entre 1 et 4 inclusivement; - R désigne un atome d'hydrogène ou d'halogène tel que le brome, le chlore ou le fluor, un radical alkyle en C1-C6 ou un groupement OZ ou SZ dans lesquels Z désigne un radical alkyle en C1-C6, monohydroxyalkyle en C1-C6 ou polyhydroxyalkyle en C2-C6; et R1, R2, R3, R4, sont identiques ou différents.
