The invention features a shaving cartridge (12) for connection to a handle. The shaving cartridge (12) includes a plastic housing (20) having a front portion (136), a rear portion (138) having a rear surface, two side surfaces (34) extending from the front portion (136) to the rear portion (138), pivoting structure defining a pivot axis (70) for pivoting of the housing (20) with respect to the handle, and a housing axis (217) extending from the rear portion to the front portion perpendicular to the pivot axis (70). One or more shaving blades (28) are positioned between the front portion and the rear portion. The one or more blades (28) extend along respective one or more parallel blade axes (130) that are parallel to the pivot axis (70) and located behind the pivot axis. A guard (22) at the front portion (136) of the housing (20) includes an elastomeric member (100) that extends along the housing axis (217)in front of the pivot axis (70) by a front distance that is within (35) percent of a rear distance along the housing axis (127) from the pivot axis (70) to the rear surface so as to provide a cartridge that is substantially balanced about the pivot axis (70).
