The present invention relates to a wheel grid assembly (25) and vehicle towing apparatus. The wheel grid assembly (25) includes a wheel boom (26) and a pair of lift arms (31A, 31B). Each lift arm (31A, 31B) consists of an extension arm segment (32) transversely fixed to the wheel boom (26), and an engaging arm segment (33) having a pivot point designed for pivotal mounting near the end of the extension arm segment (32), remote from the wheel boom (26). The engaging arm segment (33) is made up of an actuating arm segment (35) and a gripping arm segment (34) extending in different directions from the pivot point. A pair of linear actuators (41) are pivotally attached to the wheel boom (26), with each having a fixed arm segment (36) and movable arm segment (37). The fixed arm segment (36) of each linear actuator is relatively transversely attached to the wheel boom (26) and the movable arm segment (37) of each is pivotally attached to an over-center locking mechanism (40).
Ensemble (25) support de roues et appareil de remorquage de véhicule. Ledit ensemble (25) support de roues comporte une rampe (26) et une paire de bras de levage (31A, 31B). Chaque bras de levage (31A, 31B) est constitué d'un segment (32) de bras d'extension fixé transversalement à la rampe (26), et d'un segment (33) de bras de contact doté d'un point de pivotement destiné au montage pivotant dudit bras à proximité de l'extrémité du segment (32) de bras d'extension, à distance de la rampe (26). Le segment (33) de bras de contact est constitué d'un segment (35) de bras d'actionnement et d'un segment (34) de bras de saisie qui s'étendent dans des directions différentes à partir du point de pivotement. Une paire d'actionneurs (41) linéaires sont fixés pivotants au mât (26), chacun possédant un segment (36) de bras fixe et un segment (37) de bras mobile. Le segment (36) de bras fixe de chaque actionneur linéaire est fixé transversalement au mât (26) et le segment (37) de bras mobile de chacun est fixé pivotant à un mécanisme (40) de verrouillage à détente brusque.
