A roller blind comprises a roller (20), which carries a sheet of flexible material (18). A pair of brackets (14,16) support the roller (20), through a pair of end fittings (30,50) for rotation . At least one of the end fittings has a spigot (54) which can be compressed axially of the roller (20) against spring force to enable the roller to be introduced between the brackets (14,16). Means operable to prevent compression of the fitting following installation of the roller between the brackets comprise (singly or in combination): (a) a tongue (40) carried on a first end fitting (30) which has a transversely extending cut-away part (42), whereby, on the tongue (40) entering a slot (68) on the corresponding bracket the material of the bracket can enter the cut-away part (42) so as to resist subsequent axial movement of the tongue or (b) a collar (100) which surrounds the spigot (54), the collar (100) being selectively configurable to be slidable with respect to the spigot or to be secured against axial movement with respect to the spigot.

Le rouleau (20) est muni de deux embouts (30, 50) pour la rotation entre une paire de pattes de fixation (14, 16). Au moins un des embouts a la forme d'un goujon (54) à enfoncer dans le sens de l'axe du rouleau (20) contre un mécanisme à ressort pour retenir le rouleau entre les pattes de fixation (14, 16). Pour éviter la compression de l'embout une fois le rouleau en place entre les pattes de fixation, deux mécanismes utilisés individuellement ou en combinaison sont prévus : (a) Une languette (40) rattachée à un des embouts (30) comprend une pièce en coupe (42) en travers. Cette languette (40) s'insère dans une encoche (68) sur la patte de fixation correspondante, dont la forme embrasse la pièce en coupe (42) de façon à empêcher tout mouvement de la languette sur le plan axial.
