Described herein are compositions suitable for the treatment of pathological conditions distinguished by ' insufficient or reduced mitochondrial function. The compositions comprise, as principal active ingredients, the amino acids leucine, isoleucine and valine. Preferably envisaged, as further active ingredients, are the amino acids threonine and lysine, and possibly histidine, phenylalanine, methionine, tryptophan, as well as tyrosine and cyst(e)ine.

L'invention concerne des compositions s'utilisant pour le traitement d'états pathologiques caractérisés par une insuffisance ou une réduction de la fonction mitochondriale. Ces compositions renferment comme principes actifs principaux les acides aminés leucine, isoleucine et valine. Les autres principes actifs envisagés de préférence sont les acides aminés thréonine et lysine, et éventuellement histidine, phénylalanine, méthionine, tryptophane, ainsi que tyrosine et cyst(é)ine.
