A process for constructing a transgenic plant having fructooligosaccharide accumulated therein which comprises the step of transforming a plant with a gene construct containing a gene encoding .beta.-fructofranosidase capable of converting sucrose into fructooligosaccharide; and a transgenic plant constructed by this process.
L'invention concerne un procédé d'obtention d'une plante transgénique ayant une fructooligosaccharide accumulée consistant à transformer une plante à l'aide d'un gène hybride contenant un gène codant .beta.-fructofranosidase apte à convertir le sucrose en fructooligosaccharide ; et une plante transgénique obtenue au moyen de ce procédé.
