An ice rink chiller, for use with an ice rink and a single phase power supply, comprises a self-contained cooling system and a standalone enclosure encapsulating the cooling system. The cooling system is pre-wired and pre-plumbed inside of the enclosure. The chiller further comprises a standard single phase electrical connection facilitating ready connection of the cooling system to the power supply in the operative configuration. The chiller also comprises "quick connect" pipe couplings connecting the cooling system to the ice rink in an operative configuration to complete a closed loop coolant system and enabling operative extraction of heat from the ice rink, thus dispensing with the need to have an electrician convert electrical capabilities between the power supply and a three phase power supply, and with the need to have a plumber complete on-site internal connections of the self-contained cooling system and of the cooling system with the ice rink.
