According to a delivery-based approach for renting specific entertainment media selections to customers, customers call, show up in person, or electronically log-in, to order specific entertainment media selections that will be either picked up or be delivered to a specified location within a specified timeframe. With their order, the customer specifies what specific entertainment media selections to rent by being presented with a manageable selection of entertainment media choices from a computer, or communicated manually over the telephone or on location at the establishment, or via an IVR system, or via fax. According to the approach, during the order process customers decide which specific item(s) to rent based on a manageable selection of entertainment media choices to be provided over an existing delivery process. The provider may be either centralized or distributed depending upon the physical location of their customers. Customers then return the rented item(s) either in person, have it picked up, have it couriered, drop it off, or have the item(s) mailed in through the postal service. The entire process is managed and captured manually or through the system.
