The invention relates to systems and methods for implementing vehicle simulation. The present invention also relates particularly, though not exclusively, to flight/aircraft simulation. In a first of its aspects the present invention may provide a detachable signal interface unit for use in a vehicle simulation system having a vehicle simulator unit for providing a vehicle simulation environment and simulation control means for generating vehicle simulator control signals remotely from said vehicle simulator unit and remotely from said detachable signal interface unit, wherein the detachable signal interface unit includes: control signal input means for receiving simulator control signals from said remote simulation control means, signal conditioning means far conditioning said received control signals into a form compatible with said vehicle simulator unit, and control signal output means for outputting conditioned simulator control signals ; attachment means for detachably attaching the signal interface unit to said vehicle simulator unit such that said control signal output means interface with signal input means of said vehicle simulator unit.
