A method of culturing liver cells over a long time characterized in that fresh liver cells are maintained in a medium at a temperature of 15 to 30 ~ C for 1 to 6 days and then cultured. According to the above method, liver cells can be cultured over a long time without losing the enzymatic activity or the enzyme- inducing activity thereof. This method is particularly useful in transporting extirpated liver cells over a long period of time, since the liver cells can be maintained at around room temperature for 1 to 6 days therein.

L'invention concerne un procédé de culture de cellules de foie sur une durée prolongée qui consiste à conserver des cellules foie fraîches dans un milieu à une température de 15 à 30 ·C pendant 1 à 6 jours, puis à les cultiver. Selon ce procédé, les cellules de foie peuvent être cultivées sur une durée prolongée sans que l'on perde leur activité enzymatique ou leur activité d'induction d'enzymes. Ce procédé est particulièrement utile au niveau du transport de cellules de foie extraites sur une durée prolongée, étant donné qu'on peut les conserver ainsi à température ambiante pendant 1 à 6 jours.
