The present invention relates to the use of a proteineous component isolated from plant chromatin, after dissociation of the same, as an antimicrobial agent, the proteineous component having an apparent molecular weight between 10 and 20 kD. The proteineous plant component is produced by means of a method comprising the steps of homogenizing a plant material in order to expose its plant chromatin, dissociating the plant chromatin with a dissociating agent under hydrophobic conditions, and separating the dissiociated plant chromatin into individual fractions, one comprising the proteineous plant component, by means of a hydrophobic interaction separation procedure.
L'invention concerne l'utilisation en tant qu'agent antimicrobien d'un composant protéiné isolé de la chromatine des plantes, après dissociation de celle-ci, composant possédant un poids moléculaire apparent compris entre 10 et 20 kD. Le composant de plante protéiné est produit par un procédé consistant à homogénéiser un matérial végétal, de sorte que sa chromatine soit exposée, à dissocier ladite chromatine à l'aide d'un agent de dissociation, dans des conditions hydrophobes, et à séparer ladite chromatine dissociée en fractions séparées dont une comprend le composant de plante protéiné, par une procédure de séparation par interaction hydrophobe.
