The invention relates to piperidine derivatives of formula (I) and to the physiologically acceptable salts thereof, whereby X, Y, Z, RI, R2, R3 and R4 have the meanings cited in Claim 1. The inventive piperidine derivatives and the salts thereof can be used as excitatory amino-acid antagonists to combat neurodegenerative disorders including cerebrovascular diseases, epilepsy, schizophrenia, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease or Huntingdon's disease, cerebral ischaemia, infarcts or physchoses.

L'invention concerne des dérivés de pipéridine de la formule (I) et leurs sels dépourvus de risques physiologiques. Dans la formule (I) X, Y Z, R<1>, R<2>, R<3> et R<4> ont la signification donnée dans la revendication 1. Ces dérivés de pipéridine et leurs sels peuvent être utilisés comme antagonistes d'acides aminés excitateurs pour lutter contre les maladies neurovégétatives, y compris les maladies cérébrovasculaires, épilepsie, la schizophrénie, la maladie d'Alzheimer, la maladie de Parkinson ou la maladie d'Huntington, l'ischémie cérébrale, les infractus ou les psychoses.
