Urinary incontinence in humans is treated by administration of a compound chosen from a series of aryloxy propanamines, of the formula Image wherein: R1 is C5-C7 cycloalkyl, thienyl, halothienyl, (C1-C4 alkyl)thienyl, furanyl, pyridyl or thiazolyl; Ar is Image each of R2 and R3 independently is hydrogen or methyl; each R4 independently is halo, C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C3 alkoxy or trifluoromethyl; each R5 independently is halo, C1-C4 alkyl or trifluoromethyl; m is 0, 1 or 2; n is 0 or 1; or a pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof.
