A method of synthesizing multi-tier cascade polymers and the polymers made thereby are formed by reacting at least one tier of a polymer with a functionalized isocyanate having the following formula: O = C = N - C(CH2-R)3 with R being selected from the group including: a) - (CH2)n - CH2 - COOR' with R' being selected from the group consisting of alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, heteroaryl-polycycloalkyl, adamantyl, n = 0-10; - O - (CH2)n - CH2 - COOR'; b) - O - (CH2)n - CH2 - CN with R' being selected from the group consisting of alkyl (C-1 to C-20), cycloalkyl (C-3 to C-10), aryl heteroaryl, polycycloalkyl, adamantyl, n = 0-10; and c) - CH2 - (CH2)n - O - R'' with n = 0-10, R'' being selected from the group consisting of alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl heteroaryl ester functionality, and a sulphur or a silicon atom bearing substituents selected from the group including: (I), (II), -SO2-R''', - SiR3 - CH2 - CH2 - CN, -CH2 - CH2 - COOR''' wherein R''' is alkyl (C-1 to C-20), cycloalkyl (C3-C-10), aryl, heteroaryl, polycycloalkyyl, adamantyl.

L'invention concerne un procédé de synthèse de polymères à multicouches superposées et les polymères ainsi fromés. Le procédé consiste à faire réagir au moins une couche du polymère avec un isocyanate fonctionnalisé ayant la formule O=C=N-C(CH¿2?-R)¿3? dans laquelle R est choisi dans le groupe comprenant: a)- (CH¿2?)¿n?-CH¿2?-COOR' ou R' est choisi dans le groupe comprenant les radicaux alkyle, cycloalkyle, aryle, hétéroaryle, polycycloalkyle, adamandyle et n = 1-10; b) -O-(CH¿2?)¿n?-CH¿2?-COOR', b) -O-(CH¿2?)¿n?-CH¿2?-CN, où R' est choisi dans le groupe comprenant les radicaux (C1-C20)alkyle, (C3-C10)cycloalkyle, aryle, hétéroaryle, polycycloalkyle, adamantyle, n = 0-10; et c) -CH¿2?-(CH¿2?)¿n?-O-R'' avec n = 0-10 et où R'' est choisi dans le groupe comprenant les radicaux alkyle, cycloalkyle, fonction aryle hétéroaryle ester et un atome de soufre ou de silicium portant des substituants choisis parmiles radicaux (I), (II), -SO¿2?-R''', -SiR¿3? -CH¿2?-CH¿2?- CN, -CH¿2?-CH¿2?-COOR''', où R''' est un radical (C1-C20)alkyle, (C3-C10)cycloalkyle, aryle, hétéroaryle, polycycloalkyle et adamantyle.
