ABSTRACT A superconducting ceramic composition conforms substantially to the composition Tl2-xCa2+xBa2Cu3Oq where x is between 0.1 and 0.5 (preferably between 0.2 and 0.4) and q is about 10. The compositions can be made by heat-treating an oxide mixture corresponding to the specified composition at a temperature of about 910°C and are essentially monophasic.
