A foot activated toilet flushing apparatus installation kit, includes a cord and a pedal member. A first end of the cord is secured to a flushing handle of a toilet tank. A second end of the cord is secured to the first end of the pedal member, so that the first end of the pedal member is suspended in the air and a second end of the pedal member rests on the floor. The second end of the pedal member is maintained on the floor solely by its own weight, positioning the pedal member in a upwardly angled orientation at an angle of between 20 and 40 degrees from horizontal. The pedal member is depressed for flushing and is returned to the upwardly angled orientation after use solely by movement of the flushing handle on the toilet tank.
