The invention relates to a support with an adjustable arch, especially a lumbar support, for any type of seat or bed. The inventive support contains an elastic arching element and an adjusting device for setting and adjusting the arch of said arching element. The arching element consists of an essentially flat archable frame part (5; 5'; 5'') and at least one plate (8; 27, 28; 48) with two resilient ends. Said plate is rigidly connected to the frame part over a small surface.
