It is intended to provide various useful polypeptides. In particular, a polypeptide having an amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 4, SEQ ID NO: 5, SEQ ID NO: 6, SEQ ID NO: 7, SEQ ID NO: 8 or SEQ ID NO: 9, a compound promoting the activity of the polypeptide or a salt thereof can be utilized as a preventive or therapeutic agent for renal edema, urinary excretion disorder, hyponatremia, syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion, hypertention or the like. Further, a compound inhibiting the activity of the polypeptide or a salt thereof is useful as a preventive or therapeutic agent for urine collection disorder, polyuria, diabetes insipidus, hypernatremia, metabolic alkalosis, hypokalemia, Cushing~s syndrome or the like. Further, the polypeptide having the amino acid sequence represented by SEQ ID NO: 7, SEQ ID NO: 8 or SEQ ID NO: 9 can be utilized also as a preventive or therapeutic agent for anorexia nervosa or the like, a feeding (appetite) stimulant or the like.

Cette invention concerne divers polypeptides utiles, en particulier un polypeptide dont la séquence d'acides aminés est représentée par SEQ ID NO: 4; SEQ ID NO: 5; SEQ ID NO: 6, SEQ ID NO: 7, SEQ ID NO: 8 ou SEQ ID NO: 9. Un composé favorisant l'activité du polypeptide ou de son sel peut être utilisé comme agent préventif ou thérapeutique dans les cas d'oedème rénal, de troubles de la miction, d'hyponatrémie, de syndrome de sécrétion inappropriée de la vaospressine, d'hypertension ou analogue. De plus, un composé inhibant l'action du polypeptide ou de son sel est utile comme agent préventif ou thérapeutique en cas de trouble du recueil d'urine, de polyurie, de diabète insipide, d'hypernatrémie, d'alcalose métabolique, d'hypokaliémie de syndrome de Cushing ou analogue. Enfin le polypeptide dont la séquence d'acides aminés est représentée par SEQ ID NO: 7, SEQ ID NO: 8 ou SEQ ID NO: 9 peut s'utiliser comme agent préventif ou thérapeutique pour l'anorexie mentale ou analogue, ou comme stimulant de l'appétit ou analogue.
