Disclosed herein is an apparatus for sealing a cavity between production casing and surface casing. The apparatus includes a seal, which is composed of a plurality of sealing portions. Each of the sealing portions is dimensioned to fit around a portion of the perimeter of the production casing and to seal a portion of the cavity. The sealing portions circumscribe the production casing and sealing the entire cavity when secured in place around the production casing. The apparatus also includes a retainer, which is composed of a plurality of retaining portions. The retaining portions are configured to be clamped together around the surface casing into a secured position and to securely retain the seal around the production casing when in the secured position. Beneficially, this apparatus can be used to retrofit existing, completed wellheads.
Décrit aux présentes est un appareil utilisé pour sceller une cavité entre la colonne de production et la colonne de surface. L'appareil comprend un joint, composé de plusieurs sections de joint. Chacune de ces sections est de la dimension appropriée pour s'ajuster sur une partie du pourtour de la colonne de production et pour sceller une partie de la cavité.
