A urine detecting and signalling device for use in a diaper includes a sensing device fitted to a diaper, and a signalling device; the signal lingdevice is housed in a housing detachably connected to the diaper; the signalling is connected to an amplifying circuit housed in the housing; the amplifying circuit is electrically connected to the sensing device on attachment of the housing to the diaper, and can activate the signally device to alert an attending person when a wearer of the diaper has urinated.
