Derivatives having one of the following formulas (1) and (2), wherein R1 and R2 are, independently, H, C1-5 alkyl or C1-5 substituted alkyl, X is selected from the group consisting of -C(=O)H, -OCH3, -C(OR)2H, -CN, -C(=O)CH3 and - C(=O)OR7(where R7 is a C1-15 alkyl), are useful as fragrants.
