ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A storage and transport container includes a cover sealingly placed on the container. The side walls of the container are provided with a circumferentially extending groove. The groove is upwardly open and a sealing ring or sealing cord is placed in the groove. The cover is provided with a circumferentially extending rib which is in contact with the sealing ring or sealing cord when the cover is placed on the container.
