Methods for modulating immune responses, in particular IgE responses, are provided. The methods involve contacting an cell with an agent comprising multivalent lacto-N-neotetraose (LNnT), which modulates an immune response. The methods are useful for enhancing production of non-specific polyclonal IgE, inhibiting production of antigen-specific IgE responses, inducing cytokine production, and stimulating proliferation of splenocytes. In a preferred embodiment, the invention provides methods for modulating an immune response to an antigen (e.g., an allergen) in vivo. Pharmaceutical compositions for modulating immune responses comprising the agents of the invention are also provided.
La présente invention concerne des procédés de modulation des réponses immunitaires, en les réponses IgE. Ces procédés consistent à faire entrer une cellule en contact avec un agent comprenant une lacto-N-néotétraose (LNnT) multivalente modulant une réponse immunitaire. Ces procédés conviennent au renforcement de la production d'IgE polyclonal non-spécifique, au blocage de la production de réponses IgE spécifiques d'antigènes, à l'induction de la production de cytokines, et à la stimulation de la prolifération de splénocytes. Selon une réalisation préférée, l'invention concerne des procédés de modulation d'une réponse immunitaire in vivo contre un antigène tel qu'un allergène. L'invention concerne également des compositions pharmaceutiques permettant de moduler les réponses immunitaires et comprenant les agents de l'invention.
