An introducer apparatus and a method for forming an introducer apparatus. The apparatus comprises an inner liner having a passageway extending longitudinally therethrough. A coil in a stressed, radially expanded condition is positioned longitudinally around said inner tube. A polymeric outer tube is positioned longitudinally around the coil and the inner liner, and is bonded to the inner liner through the spaces between the turns of the coil. The polymeric outer tube is formed in a manner such that it maintains the coil in its stressed radially expanded condition. In a preferred embodiment, the inner liner and outer tube comprise a polyimide.
La présente invention concerne un appareil intubateur et un procédé destiné à le former. L~appareil comprend un manchon intérieur présentant un passage s~étendant longitudinalement à travers ce dernier. Un serpentin dans une condition sollicitée et agrandi de façon radiale est positionné longitudinalement autour dudit tube intérieur. Un tube extérieur polymère est positionné longitudinalement autour du serpentin et du manchon intérieur et est lié à ce dernier à travers les espaces entre les spires du serpentin. Le tube extérieur polymère est formé d~une manière telle qu~il maintient le serpentin dans sa condition sollicité et agrandi de façon radiale. Dans un mode de réalisation préféré, le manchon intérieur et le tube extérieur comprennent un polyimide.
