ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A turntable for use with an automatic storage and retrieval system including a storage and retrieval machine, a first rail for supporting the storage and retrieval machine for horizontal movement, the first rail having an end, the turntable comprising a second rail for supporting the storage and retrieval machine for horizontal movement, the second rail being adapted to be located adjacent the end of the first rail, and a pivot pin supporting the second rail for pivotal movement about a generally vertical axis and relative to a first position wherein the second rail is aligned with the first rail such that the storage and retrieval machine can move between the first rail and the second rail.
