A martensitic stainless steel pipe wherein it has a chemical composition in which the contents of C, Si, Mn and Cr are respectively limited to specific ranges, and wherein the scale formed on the outer surface of the pipe has a porosity in a specific range depending on the thickness thereof. The steel pipe can exhibit an improved accuracy in the detection of defects by a non- destructive inspection such as ultrasonic flaw detection, which results in the improved efficiency in the non-destructive inspection, and is also advantageous in that it has improved atmosphere corrosion resistance. Accordingly, the above steel pipe and a method for production thereof can be suitably utilized in all the applications wherein use is made of a martensitic stainless steel pipe having a chemical composition equivalent to the above.
L'invention concerne un conduit d'acier inoxydable martensitique présentant une composition chimique dans laquelle les teneurs en C, Si, Mn et Cr sont maintenues dans des plages spécifiques respectives, le dépôt formé sur la surface extérieure du conduit présentant une porosité comprise dans une plage spécifique dépendant de son épaisseur. Ce conduit en acier permet d'obtenir une précision accrue dans la détection de défauts au moyen d'une inspection non destructive, telle qu'une détection de brèches par ultrasons, d'où une efficacité accrue dans l'inspection non destructive ainsi qu'une meilleure résistance à la corrosion atmosphérique. Par conséquent, le conduit en acier susmentionné et son procédé de production peuvent être mis en oeuvre dans toutes les applications impliquant l'utilisation d'un conduit en acier inoxydable martensitique présentant une composition chimique équivalente à la composition susmentionnée.
