The present invention relates to antibacterial compositions comprising particular compounds, to the use of said compounds as antibacterial agents, to the preparation of therapeutic or medicinal compositions comprising said compounds and to a method of disinfecting matter including the step of treating matter with said compounds. The compounds are identified as peptides having a molecular weight of at least 5kD, comprising at least 15 % by number of residues of arginine, lysine, ornithine or a mixture thereof and at least 15 % by number of residues of arginine, lysine, ornithine, phenylalanine, tyrosine, tryptophan or a mixture thereof. Although the invention is described with reference to use in the fields of food and oral hygiene, the invention has particular utility in the field of household and/or industrial hygiene.
L'invention se rapporte à des compositions antibactériennes comprenant des composés particuliers, à l'utilisation de ces composés en tant qu'agents antibactériens, à la préparation de compositions thérapeutiques ou médicinales contenant lesdits composés, ainsi qu'à un mode de désinfection d'une matière comprenant l'étape de traitement de cette matière avec ces composés, lesquels sont identifiés comme des peptides ayant un poids moléculaire d'au moins 5 kD, contenant au moins 15 % en nombre de résidus d'arginine, de lysine, d'ornithine ou d'un mélange de ces substances, et au moins 15 % en nombre de résidus d'arginine, de lysine, d'ornithine, de phénylalanine, de tyrosine, de tryptophane ou d'un mélange de ces substances. Bien que l'invention se rapporte plutôt aux domaines de l'alimentation et de l'hygiène buccale, elle trouve une application toute particulière dans le domaine de l'hygiène domestique et/ou industrielle.
