A power unit for a conduit cleaner. The conduit cleaner has a motor with a housing carrying a shaft that is rotatable about an axis. The motor operates in response to the introduction of a pressurized fluid. The housing has inlets for admitting pressurized fluid and an outlet to permit the discharge thereof. A nozzle is connected to the housing and is configured to direct fluid from a pressurizedsupply to the housing inlet and direct fluid discharged from the outlet out of the power unit. The nozzle has a substantially cylindrical outer surface. In one form, the nozzle does not project beyond the cylindrical outer surface. Accordingly, acompact unit can be made according to the present invention. The absence of radially projecting structure also avoids protrusions that may intercept roots or other foreign matter within a conduit and thereby interrupt free movement of theconduit cleaner through a conduit.
La présente invention vise un bloc d'alimentation pour appareil de nettoyage de conduits. L'appareil de nettoyage est équipé d'un moteur dont le boîtier abrite un arbre tournant sur son axe. Le moteur se met en marche suite à l'entrée d'un fluide sous pression. Le boîtier est muni d'orifices d'admission permettant l'entrée d'un fluide sous pression et d'un orifice de sortie utilisé pour son évacuation. Un ajutage est raccordé à ce boîtier et il est configuré de façon à diriger le fluide d'une source d'alimentation sous pression vers l'orifice d'admission du boîtier, puis de l'orifice d'évacuation du boîtier vers l'extérieur du bloc d'alimentation. L'ajutage présente une surface extérieure essentiellement cylindrique. Dans une variante de l'invention, l'ajutage ne fait pas saillie hors de la surface extérieure de forme cylindrique et permet ainsi de fabriquer un appareil de nettoyage compact. L'absence de composants se déployant sur le plan radial permet également d'éliminer les éléments en saillie susceptibles de se coincer dans les racines ou autres corps étrangers présents dans les conduits, qui pourraient de ce fait empêcher la progression de l'appareil de nettoyage dans un conduit.
