The invention relates to the field of cancer diagnosis and the application of diagnostic techniques in pathology and haematology. Specifically, the invention relates to techniques for the detection of chromosomal aberrations and the detection of tumor specific gene products exclusively expressed by tumor cells containing said chromosomal aberrations. The invention provides a method to detect chromosomal aberrations in a biological sample via the exclusive detection of tumour- specific gene-product using at least two different probes directed against the gene-product.

L'invention concerne le domaine du diagnostic du cancer et la mise en application de techniques de diagnostic en pathologie et en hématologie. Elle concerne, en particulier, des techniques servant à détecter des aberrations chromosomiques, ainsi que des produits génétiques tumoraux spécifiques exprimés exclusivement par des cellules tumorales contenant lesdites aberrations chromosomiques. Elle concerne un procédé permettant de détecter des aberrations chromosomiques dans un spécimen biologique par l'intermédiaire de la détection exclusive d'un produit génétique tumoral spécifique au moyen d'au moins deux sondes différentes dirigées contre ce produit génétique.
