The invention relates to the use of molded bodies as dust-binding means in vacuum cleaners. The molded bodies according to the invention have length/width/height dimensions ranging from 1 mm to 5 cm and are produced by treating (a) an open-cell foam material having a density ranging from 5 to 500 kg/m3 and a mean pore diameter ranging from 1 µm to 1 mm (b) with an aqueous formulation of at least one cationic polymer, (c) and a shaping step.
