It is aimed to provide a thinner electrolyte layer while suppressing occurrence of cracks in the electrolyte layer. An inorganic dense electrolyte layer (36) is provided together with a dense base (31), thereby forming an electrolyte membrane (30). A fuel cell stack is formed by stacking a plurality of cells in series which cells are respectively composed of the electrolyte membrane (30), a fuel electrode and an oxygen electrode.
