Method and apparatus for recording data on a magnetic recording medium and writing data to a computer bus in which the data is divided into words of a predetermined length, a signal is generated for each data word, having an amplitude which is representative of the value of the data word, and this signal is then recorded to the magnetic recording medium or written to the computer bus. Complementary method and apparatus is provided for reading the data from the magnetic recording medium and the computer bus.

Procédé et dispositif d'enregistrement de données sur un support d'enregistrement magnétique et d'écriture de données sur un bus d'ordinateur. Le procédé comporte les étapes consistant à diviser les données en mots de longueur prédéterminée ; à produire un signal pour chaque mot de données, ce signal présentant une amplitude qui représente la valeur du mot de données ; et à enregistrer ce signal sur le support d'enregistrement magnétique ou à l'écrire sur le bus d'ordinateur. L'invention concerne aussi un procédé et un dispositif complémentaires permettant de lire les données provenant du support d'enregistrement magnétique et du bus d'ordinateur.
