- 18 - SCAFFOLDING BRACKET FOR MOUNTING AT A ROOF EDGE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A bracket is provided for attachment to a roof structure to define a platform by which a roofing con- tractor can stand on the platform and apply shingles or other roofing materials to the edge of the roof and includes a strap and a bracket member. The strap can lie up the inclined roof surface and has slots in a downwardly inclined direction to which nails are applied and can be released by sliding action of the strap. The bracket is attached to the fascia plate of the roof and extends outwardly therefrom in a cantilever support action away from the fascia plate supported wholly by the strap and the attachment of the fascia plate. A plank is then laid over the bracket to com- plete the platform. When finished double headed nails can be removed from the fascia plate releasing the bracket and allowing the strap to slide upwardly under the shingles to be released without interfering with the shingles. The device can be quickly, simply attached without necessity of support from the ground.
