By studying how the deletion of 11 bases from swine Mx1 gene affects the capability of inhibiting the proliferation of influenza virus which is one of myxoviruses, it is revealed that the mutant with the deletion of the 11 bases completely loses the capability of inhibiting the proliferation of the virus. Therefore, the resistance to an RNA virus such as influenza virus or PRRS virus can be judged by detecting the deletion of these 11 bases in swine.
En étudiant la manière dont la délétion de 11 bases du gène Mx1 chez un porc vivant pouvait affecter la capacité d'inhiber la prolifération du virus grippal, qui est un des myxovirus, l'on a découvert que le mutant présentant la délétion des 11 bases du gène Mx1 perd complètement sa capacité d'inhiber la prolifération du virus.
