ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides a method of supporting a golf ball for being struck by a golf club comprising forming a supporting surface for a golf ball, placing a force resistant member within the supporting surface in alignment with the desired direction of travel of the golf ball when it will be struck, placing said supporting element in contact with the playing surface for a golf game in such a manner that the supporting surface is elevated above said playing surface, and placing a golf ball on said supporting surface preparatory to being struck.
