There is provided a floor covering securer adapted to secure the edges of two separate floor coverings adjacent to one another. The securer has two substantially parallel jaw-like openings each adapted to receive and secure an edge of a floor covering. The two jaw-like openings are joined by a base which secures them to the floor and a top which provides a treadable surface between the upper plates of each jaw. The jaw-like openings are biased toward a closed position, preferably by spring hinges.
